Rates

Two vans, two rates.

The electric three run $185 to $275. The big Sprinters run $265 to $385, because they carry five people and cost several times as much to buy. Unlimited kilometres in BC and Alberta on both. What you pay for separately is the road itself — charging or diesel, campsites, ferries — because those are real costs and pretending otherwise just moves them into a surprise.

The electric three

Kia PV5 Cargo Plus

  • Low May · October

    2-night minimum

    $185 / night

  • Shoulder June · September

    2-night minimum

    $225 / night

  • Peak July · August

    3-night minimum

    $275 / night

The rate does not change with berth count because the van does not: it is a two-person van at any price, and we would rather price it like one.

The two big ones

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD, high roof

  • Low May · October

    2-night minimum

    $265 / night

  • Shoulder June · September

    2-night minimum

    $325 / night

  • Peak July · August

    3-night minimum

    $385 / night

More van, more berths, more deductible and a fuel tank. The four-berth market in Vancouver runs $300–450 at peak; we are inside it and say what the extra buys.

Weekly rate on either van: 7 nights for the price of 6, any season. Long trips are how these vans earn their keep — and how the electric ones stop being a charging conversation.

  • The electric three — Kia PV5 Cargo Plus. Two adults, a rooftop tent you climb into from inside, and a kitchen on drawers out the tailgate. Built by us, on the North Shore.
  • The two big ones — Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD, high roof. Standing height, four real berths, five seat belts and a diesel heater. Bought as conversions, not built by us — and they are diesel, which we would rather tell you now.
